St.
Patrick's Day, 2005, was cold and wet...but the paradestill went on! The four-hour parade is becoming one of the longest parades in the nation. Normally it is viewed with a beer in each hand, but this year more people opted for hot chocolate and a sincere wish to have brought a warmer
jacket.
Amy Stafford presents: The St. Patrick's Day Parade in pictures! WTOC has nothing on this in-depth coverage. So there, Jody Chapin. .Click on Amy for the special report! |

Smarty
Pants!
Ryan Stafford has joined Mrs. Harris's Advanced Placement Composition
and Literature class at Jenkins High School.
"It's important to have good skills in English, because all of your
grades will be higher," says Ryan. "Being able to write a good essay for
a science class, or being able to read a difficult text in a philosophy
class, are results of having an improved understanding of English."
The AP course is a rigorous study that culminates with a highly
anticipated, state-issued final exam at the end of the semester.
Students will earn a score on the AP exam between a one and a five, with
five being the highest. Receiving a three or higher will earn
students college credit, exempting them from English 101.
So studying hard now means less work later! Smart move, Ryan!

He has Returned! Brrr!...and he's brought the cold weather with him!
| Gary Stafford is back in
Savannah, after three years in Anchorage, Alaska and a short
stay in Sparta, Wisconsin. The skills he learned while serving in the Air Force has paid off! Immediately he landed a job at Keen Transportation, painting heavy construction equipment such as bulldozers and tractors. So now Gary has an endless supply of that bright yellow paint he's so fond of. "Yeah, now if I get a scratch on my car," says Gary, "I can
just touch it up at work." |
